Music has infinite potential for a child's development. The Boite offers a range of programs to involve children from diverse backgrounds to engage in creativity through music. Annually, over 600 children are active participants in Boite programs.
The Boite Schools Chorus is an un-auditioned choir project for schools and community youth choirs. Since 2004 the Boite Schools Chorus has involved over 6400 students from across Victoria in 27 concerts throughout the state. Each year features a different cultural theme, which in the past has included Africa, Pacific Islands, Seychelles, East Timor, South America & Indigenous Australia. Children learn songs and musical traditions from other cultures which results in a performance in a prestigious venue, with well known musicians and hundreds of students from other schools. The project is supported by excellent teaching materials and provides opportunities for extensive learning about cultures beyond the music classroom.
