About the Event

Enzo Ruberto, Salvatore Greco and Enio Pozzebon are musicians with a wealth of experience. Known in Melbourne for work in many musical combinations, they are part of the network of Jazz musicians and singers who engage with European styles and tunes. Salvatore’s magical accordion playing is key to the sounds of ensembles like Tamara Kuldin's Nostalgique, La Mauvaise Reputation, and other explorations of early European Jazz.

In BELLA CIAO, they play music of the 40’s, 50’s & 60’s from the Italian Peninsula. Styles range from Tango and Polka to Waltz, Jazz and Tarantella. Bella Ciao is Vincenzo Ruberto - Bass, Salvatore Greco & Enio Pozzebon - Accordions, Piano and Vocals. They even starred in an event where the venue burnt down! http://www.9news.com.au/.../fire-tears-through-melbourne...

The playful, tragic, hopeful and loved are common threads throughout their classically Italian repertoire. BELLA CIAO weaves them into a tapestry of music song and story that places familiar sounds in an informative context. Enjoy an intimate acoustic concert at 1 Mark St. Fitzroy North, long term home of The Boite World Music Cafe.
