Is there enough passion in your life? Allow three glamorous gypsy women to woo you with a seductive blend of Hungarian gypsy tango and love songs from around the world. Featuring the breathtaking virtuosity of Hungarian trained violinist, Hope Csutoros (My Friend the Chocolate Cake) the dynamic piano accordion playing of Judy Gunson (Cosmo Cosmolino) and the wonderful talents of Jo To on double bass.
This concert is one of the featured activities at the exhibition Flesh after Fifty, changing images of older women in art. Concert goers can view it prior to the Boite concert. Showing18 artists working in diverse media (photography, painting, installation, drawing, sound, sculpture, ceramics) the exhibition challenges negative stereotypes of older women whilst celebrating positive images. Artists include Maree Clarke, Penny Byrne, Megan Evans, Janina Green, Ponch Hawkes, Hotham Street Ladies, Sam Jinks, Deborah Kelly, Niki Koutouzis, Cathy Staughton and Catherine Bell, Ruth Maddison, Patrick Pound and Peter Wegner.
