Karina Lehman

Karina Lehman is a Chilean/ Australian singer-songwriter. Karina’s sound mixes various rhythms from Latin America and incorporates elements of pop, bossa nova, jazz and folk, while embracing multiple languages as Portuguese, Spanish and English.

Some of her musical influences are Natalia Lafourcade, Lila Downs, Kevin Johansen, The Beatles, Djavan, Marissa Monte and Gloria Stefan to name a few. She describes herself as a non-genre artist and doesn’t want to limit herself to one specific category and be able to explore in different Latin and world styles.

Karina is a well- known figure in the Melbourne Latin scene performing regularly in various venues, private parties, restaurants and some local Festival since 2014. She founded two original musical projects: Terrasur (2014) where she was the lead singer and guitar player for 4 years and recorded an EP; and Los Lopez (2019) a traditional Mexican folk band.

She debuted with her solo project last April 2020 with song ‘Son de la Luna Dormida’, followed by ‘Contigo’ and ‘Oh Eah’, and started this year 2021 releasing her first song in English "Sunset dreams" followed by a fresh bossa-samba “Vagabundeando” and a romantic ballad “Winter” released last 10th of September.

Karina is currently finishing her Bachelor of Music at Melbourne Polytechnic.
