Melbourne Georgian Choir
The Melbourne Georgian Choir is an Australian mixed voice choir established in 2010, currently directed by Krzysztof Derwinski.
The choir sings traditional songs from Georgia in the Caucasus.
Georgian songs are noted for their sublime harmony, mysterious key changes and dissonance.
All singers are welcome to this musically adventurous and friendly group. Be prepared to to be patient and perseverant. Georgian languages are not easy and some of the notes you are required to sing might surprise you!
Rehearsal resources will be made available via Dropbox. Rehearsal materials include recordings of each part plus the parts combined, and sheet music.

Krys Derwinski
Choir Director
Krys Derwinski has been MGC's music director since January 2020. In 2022 he initiated the very successful weekend of Georgian singing in Malmsbury, Central Victoria. Krys is greatly respected musician, teacher and workshop leader deeply involved in Georgian music. Everyone is welcome to explore this unique repertoire with us.
