About the Event

Georgian songs are noted for their sublime harmony, mysterious key changes and dissonance.

All singers are welcome to this musically adventurous and friendly group. Be prepared to to be patient and perseverant. Georgian languages are not easy and some of the notes you are required to sing might surprise you! Krys Derwinski has been MGC's music director since January 2020. In 2022 he initiated the very successful weekend of Georgian singing in Malmsbury, Central Victoria. Krys is greatly respected musician, teacher and workshop leader deeply involved in Georgian music. Everyone is welcome to explore this unique repertoire with us.

Rehearsals will be held each Saturday afternoon, 2:30pm to 4:30pm in the beautiful Community Church of St Mark in Clifton Hill unless noted otherwise, and will also be streamed on Zoom if requested.

Newcomers to the choir can attend the first workshops in terms 1 and 2 free of charge as a try…
