About the Event
The 5th and final term of Sonidos Del Alma Spanish Language Choir for 2023 will begin on Wednesday October 18 at St Brigid's Parish, North Fitzroy and continue for 8 Wednesdays with the final rehearsal on Wednesday December 6.
Get together in a fun, friendly environment to learn Spanish through song under the direction of Colombian singer-songwriter Iaki Vallejo. The choir is open to all, no experience required.
The choir will specialise in songs from Latin America such as the Mexican bolero Besame mucho, the Colombian cumbia El pescador and the Chilean classic Todo cambia. The repertoire will also include arrangements of Iaki’s own songs with the purpose of creating opportunities to perform together in her shows.
Iaki will also teach skills like holding your own part in a harmony.
The choir sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
