About the Event

The Boite and The Spooky Men’s Chorale present a one off musical event: Singing TREATY with the Spooky Men in Naarm (Melbourne) on Saturday July 29th, 11am-1.30pm. It's free, but you'll need to RSVP if you'd like to pariciapte: https://bit.ly/44um3UE

As part of the Spooky Mens Chorale national tour, and also as part of the national campaign for YES to the voice to parliament, there will be a musical happening in Melbourne the day after the Spooky gig at the Melbourne Recital Centre and YOU can be apart of it!

The choir and participants will sing Yothu Yindi’s ”Treaty”. Participants are invited to first learn the song via the provided materials, participate in the rehearsal at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in central Melbourne, and then perform the song there (and possibly somewhere else as well)

Come and join the choir and sing Yothu Yindi’s ”Treaty”. Participants are invited to first learn the song via the provided materials, participate in the rehearsal at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in central Melbourne, and then perform the song there (and possibly somewhere else as well)

The arrangement of the song has been approved by Yothu Yindi, and the choir will be performing this song very much as part of the YES campaign, as a statement of solidarity towards all parts of the The Uluru Statement from the Heart: Voice, Treaty, Truth. And we propose that whilst the event is free, participants make a donation which will go towards the YES campaign.

Here’s what you should do:

1. go here to book yourself or your choir as participants:

https://bit.ly/44um3UE

This is IMPORTANT, because we need to know as closely as possible how many people are coming.

2. go to www.stephentaberner.com/treaty for full learning materials for the song. There is a complete score, plus every part panned so that your part is in one ear of your headphones, all of the other parts in the other ear.

3. tell your friends!

4. come to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl at 11am on Saturday 29th July, with your finest clothes and your YES sign, if you have one.

There will be further communications as time gets closer.
