Growing up in the engaging musical traditions of Colombia, immersed in Cumbia and compelling Latin rhythms, Iaki writes songs that reflect her understanding of her mixed musical and cultural heritage. Her experience of touring and living beyond Colombia, in Latin America, Europe and now Australia has further informed her musical sensibilities.
Iaki Vallejo is a Colombian, African descendant singer-songwriter, performer, choir director, visual artist, music producer, video producer and director based in Melbourne. Iaki’s multifaceted creative expression crosses disciplines and genres and manifests in many ways but is always informed by her ancestry.
