About the Event

Join us for a heartfelt musical tribute commemorating the one-year anniversary of the passing of the legendary percussionist, Guru Karaikudi Mani.

Led by Adrian Sherriff on mridangam, the ensemble features an exceptional lineup including Sandy Evans on saxophones, Peggy Lee on cello, Rohan Dasika on bass, and Jay Dabgar on tabla. Together, they will present a poignant blend of Adrian's original compositions, deeply inspired by South Indian classical percussion.

Both Adrian and Sandy were devoted students of Guru Mani for several decades, and as part of the Australian Art Orchestra, they toured extensively with him around the globe. In homage to Guru Mani's enduring legacy, the ensemble will also perform one of his original works, alongside a selection of iconic Indian devotional and fusion pieces.

Kalachakra, a Sanskrit term meaning 'Cycles of Time', embodies the profound essence of continuity and evolution. Don't miss this moving evening of music and remembrance.
