The Boite & Pichumani School of Carnatic Music presents the 2025 Melbourne Veena Festival Veena is a delicate, beautiful instrument that, in the hands of a master, can express all the nuances of Carnatic vocal and instrumental music from South India. The veena has a unique tonal quality due to its construction, starting with a bass sound in the lower octaves and shriller tones in the higher octaves, very similar to the human voice. The Melbourne Veena Festival is dedicated to showcasing this unique instrument.
Melbourne Veena Festival 2025 will feature the renowned artist from India, Ms Hemalatha Mani. The festival will also showcase Australia’s own Iyer Brothers (Ramnath Iyer OAM & Gopinath Iyer OAM) and their disciples.
