Shaking the Tree directed by Bronwyn Calcutt returns to Mark St Hall on Friday 25 October! They will be joined by the glorious Persian duo, Mana Duet (Sanaz Saadatfar on kamancheh and Mohammad Mirkarimi on daf) who will be opening the night and making their debut performance at the home of The Boite!
Shaking the Tree is one of Melbourne’s most vibrant and exciting choirs and a festival crowd favourite. Formed in 1999 and with two highly regarded CDs to their credit, the group achieves musical excellence without any sacrifice of heart, soul & good fun.
Led by professional performer Bronwyn Calcutt, (https://bronwyncalcutt.wordpress.com/) the choir sings her unique arrangements of gypsy, gospel, funk, and world music with a strong commitment to themes of social justice and freedom.
