VIKAYE Born in Zimbabwe, Vikaye got her first introduction to music at home singing hymns at family gatherings. In her early primary school years she featured in choirs and plays. Moving to Australia in 2011 Vikaye auditioned for musicals in High School and would later get lead singer roles to perform at the Regent Theatre(2016) and Arts Centre (2018) as part of the Time To Shine Gala. Post lockdown Vikaye is an emerging artist who sings at weddings and performs at Open Mics. She is working on releasing her own music later this year in the R&B Soul genre. Joining her on stage will be Desmond Mase and Ellen Chan.
YI-LYNN Gothic and unapologetic, Melbourne’s Yi-Lynn dissects bloody topics: gore, the apocalypse, and love. With a strong hold on the technical elements of folk, classical, indie and pop song writing, Yi-Lynn has garnered praise from triple j and community radio across Australia.
In 2019, Yi-Lynn launched her debut album Spit in Somebody’s Mouth to a sold-out crowd at Melbourne’s Some Velvet Morning. Single The Butcher's Wife was the winner of the 2019 triple j Unearthed X NIDA music video competition.
Yi-Lynn’s new EP Foul Water encapsulates everything that makes Yi-Lynn such a special songwriter. In a rare opportunity, they will be playing a solo set on the night before the official Foul Water EP launch at The Gaso with the full band on the 19th of August.
