About the Event

The Boite Presents Suitcase Part 4, as part of The Boite's Portfolio program. This is the final Suitcase in the series of 4. The program is creating opportunities for 10 emerging culturally diverse artists/bands in Melbourne/Naarm to showcase their original music. Lineup to be announced in the coming week, these names will be artists you'll want to keep an eye out for.

In the final showcase of the Suitcase series at Open Studio we will be presenting Australian-Peruvian Artist, Carlos Rojas and Australian - Colombian Latin pop duo Pal Mar.

Carlos Rojas Carlos has been performing for over 15 years in the music scene in Peru and in Australia. Since moving to Australia he has frequented and performed as a vocalist in various Naarm/Melbourne music institutions like The Old Bar and The Night Cat with Psychedelic Cumbian band ‘The Amazonics’. As a singer-songwriter, his music is inspired by Andean music of Peru, and artists like Caetano Veloso, Coldplay and Jorge Drexler amongst many others.

PAL MAR Australian-Colombian duo, Pal Mar was formed in 2016, when Juan Pablo and Isabella met during their musical training at the EMMAT School of Music. From that moment, their incredible passion for music led them to start playing frequently in various occasions and places. This same passion gave them a chance to travel and move to Australia, which allowed them to sit down and write new songs that ended up shaping their first studio EP.

The group has conquered several important stages in the city of Melbourne. They played in 2020 at the renowned Melbourne Fringe Festival and have had appearances in various media outlets such as SBS, RCN and several radio stations in Melbourne.

Their debut EP 'Rua' is now out on all streaming platforms.
