About the Event
Under the direction of Darryl Barron, the Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra presents a thrilling concert of powerful film music. The program features selections from Japan’s "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence", Italy’s "Life Is Beautiful", as well as unforgettable themes from "The Silence of the Lambs", "Bicentennial Man", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Platoon", and "The Godfather".
The Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra, comprised of mandolins, mandolas, mandocellos, classical guitars and double bass, is a 30-member strong community-based group with a long and rich history of performing the mandolin orchestra repertoire of traditional, classical and contemporary music in Melbourne and abroad. Our orchestra's ranks include both professional and dedicated enthusiastic amateur musicians.
