About the Event
Through vocal improvisation, movement, and emergent co-creative rituals, we explore what ignites aliveness and connection- both musically and in life.
This camp is dedicated to deepening capacity for co-creative, responsive vocal improvisation: building music from presence, listening, and shared awareness, and exploring voice as a lived, relational practice. A space for cultivating balance and vitality through shared ritual with body, voice, rhythm, music, land and eachother.
Over time, we explore how grounding in land and body, and the voice that arises from there, opens into movement, play, music, and creative expression - cultivating spontaneity and connection that can move with us beyond camp and into daily life.
What this week is about
Open to shower singers, seasoned improvisers, artists, facilitators, teachers, and anyone curious to explore voice and body in a creative, supportive community.
The focus is growth as vocal improvisers in the company of others- learning to respond in real time, notice musical relationships, and develop spontaneity, attention, and spaciousness.
Participants will explore:
-Embodied voice & rhythm - awakening voice and body through sound, breath, and rhythm
-Movement-based vocal improvisation - discovering the voice that moves and the movement that sings
-Co-creative & emergent ritual - arising from listening, relationship, and play
-Relationship to land & place - voice as part of a wider living ecology
-Reflection&stillness
