Kavisha Mazzella AM
Born in London with Italian and Anglo Burmese heritage and migrating to Australia with her family in the 60's Kavisha has grown up with a strong multicultural awareness. An ARIA award winning singer songwriter and storyteller with strong roots from the italian Folk Tradition ,she is also a choir leader having founded Italian Women's Choirs in Australia such as "The Joys of the Women " Fremantle Italian Womn's choir in 1990-1993 .An award winning documentary film was made by Franco Di Chiera about the Fremantle based choir in 1993 and featured on ABC Television and national cinemas. In Melbourne she founded la Voce Della Luna (The Voice of The Moon choir in 1996 -2013. The choir performed at many festivals including Womad in 2012 . An independant musician she has released 8 albums and sings in English and Italian .

Kavisha is a creative artist who enjoys collaborating with multicultural communities to sing their untold stories and revive old folk songs .She has toured nationally and Internationally at music festivals since the 90's singing her soulful songs and leading choirs in festival rituals .Folk Alliance Australia recently honoured Kavisha with a Lifetime achievement award for promoting cultural diversity in the folk scene .
As of 2023 Kavisha has started an Italian Folk Choir LINGUA MADRE ( Mother Tongue ) open to men and women who wish to connect with their italian heritage .
She is based in Melbourne VIC and Perth WA .
