About the Event
The Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra is celebrating young musicians.
New Horizons features emerging musicians combining with the Orchestra to showcase the diverse and beautiful sounds of the mandolin orchestra repertoire. Conducted by Juliette Maxwell, this concert will feature works by Michael Tröster, Samuel Barber, Konrad Wolki, Niccolò Piccini, Nicola Piavani and Stephen Lalor.
The Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra, comprised of mandolins, mandolas, mandocelli, classical guitars and double bass, is a 25-member strong community-based group with a long and rich history of performing the mandolin orchestra repertoire of traditional, classical and contemporary music in Melbourne and abroad. Our orchestra's ranks include both professional and dedicated enthusiastic amateur musicians.
